Silhouette Challenge and Monkey Birthday Party Peek

The other day as I was looking for Silhouette's "free shape of the week" I came across their challenge for the week (you can find it here). They suggested this shape:
All we have to do is create something using any one of these banners, leave them a comment with a link to a picture of the project and at the end of the week they randomly select a winner. I like that! Especially since I had been working on Toby's 2nd birthday party for a while (watch out for another blog post coming up soon with the complete monkey party decor!) I designed the "Happy Birthday" banner a long time ago along with other coordinating party supplies. So I decided to use the suggested shape as a way to add some dimension and this is what I got!

I'm not too happy with the papers I used, probably needed some more blue... but I'm short on time, not sure I'll be able to redo it with a better color combination. My mom (a most angelical being who apart from being a super mom is very crafty and has masterminded amazing birthday parties for us when we were kids) suggested I use the same banner to hang around the birthday cake table. I loved the idea, just hope I'll get to implement it since I can only play with my toys (aka, die-cutting & sewing machine) when the boys are asleep!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy Spring!!!!!!
